Further to the proposed formal submission of the application for sport recognition SportCheerGB attended a meeting on 20th December 2011 with Sport England. After discussions it was agreed that the application for national governing body status and recognition would be reviewed by an independent registered NGB.
SportCheerGB would like to thank all the Coaches and for profit Companies whom attended today’s meeting with Sport England for their valued input and look forward to us all working together in the further progression of our sport to the next level.

SportCheerGB is the unified national federation and is the official recognised sole voice of cheerleading in Great Britain/United Kingdom and was ratified by the International Cheer Union on the 29th April 2009
International News
On 24 November 2011, the SportAccord Council gave the International Cheer Union a
positive recommendation on ICU's 2012 application for membership.
As noted, the SportAccord
Council recommendation is an important further step toward full membership rights
in SportAccord, this will be voted on by the General Assembly at SportAccord’s annual
convention in May.
